The series explores the role of the performance as a midpoint between the pedagogical process and different needs of the market across centuries through different research perspectives (historical, systematic, practice-based). Special focus will be placed on the informative role of performance practice as an integrated research process, involving both the investigation of musical sources and the impact this process has on performers’ choices today. Moreover, the series encompasses a wide chronological and geographical span, and encourages a transcultural/comparative approach, inquiring the performance through specific different lenses in relation to contexts and locations.
